4)  The Best Real Mode IDE CD-ROM Device Driver Ever!

    I've come across several real mode CD-ROM drivers.  They are either cumbersome, shows you too much rubbish during loading-up, or plainly eats up too much memory!  I recommend using vide-cdd.sys.  Uses merely 5k of memory.  Simply great!

5)  Unable to Multi-Boot to Previous Version of MS-DOS and no WIN95 From Then Onwards!

       With the  new  OEM Release 2  of  Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 95 the multi-boot feature  with  a  previous  version of  MS-DOS  will  fail.  Despite the  SETUP  program claiming that  the  'old MS-DOS or Windows 3.xx versions  will be removed', pressing F4 to boot the old version will work on
the first try but it will result in COMPLETE boot failure on next startup.  Use this utility to save yourself from hot soup!

6)  Ever Knew That Even Video Cards are Overclockable!

    A 2mb S3 Trio 64v SVGA card in my system used to deliver poor performance (ie: jerky MPEG playback with horizontal lines running across my monitor when i resize the MPEG window to 100%).
    One fine day, I found this Utility on the web.....it is one of it's kind and works only for Cirrus Logic/ S3 Trio/ Virge/ Trident & Tseng Lab based cards.  Unzip all files, read and test it out and don't rush into it.  You may not get things right for the first time.  Keep trying until you get a stable output.  My S3 Trio 64v used to run at 51Mhz but after using this utility, it has been running fine at 151Mhz!

7)  Download MaxMTU To Increase Access Speed To Your Internet Connection!

        This is another useful utility that I found.  Sometimes,  despite having a good connection on the net, precious online time is  wasted in waiting than downloading files/ surfing.  MaxMtu allows smaller packets of data to be transfered to your system rather than the preset values.  This utility is meant for automating the otherwise tedious process of changing settings via regedit.exe.  Read all about this utility after unzipping it.

8)  Whenever Win95 Clashes & You Can't Get In Again, Reinstall Win95???

       I used to do that (stupid right), but no more! There has actually always been a wonderful utility called Emergency Recovery Utility from Microsoft.  Unzip the file and run ERU.exe.  Choose to backup using A:\ drive.  Pop in a formatted Win95 system disk to create an ERU disk.  In future, if Win95 gives up on you, bootup your system with the ERU disk in A:\ drive......VIOLA!!!  You will be restored into Win95 in no time!

9)  Optimize Your CYRIX/ IBM 686L Processors!

    I have been using this TSR utility ever since I upgraded to my Cyrix 200L.  6x86opt.exe runs the utility whereas 6x86set.exe lets you view details regarding your Cyrix/ IBM chip and make changes accordingly.  These will be saved in a file to be run by 6x86opt.exe.
